Morning Star

I've decided I really like Sinful Colors nail polish. Debacle aside, they've got decent polish for pretty cheap, especially when  you can get them on sale, which they often are at local drugstores!

Sinful Colors Morning Star is a light blue polish with baby blue shimmer. Beautiful color. Formula is slightly thin so this was four coats for opacity. It reminds me of Sinful Colors Cinderella which wasn't a huge win for me. While the idea and color is gorgeous, it falls flat in the pink shimmer department. Sinful Colors Morning Star, however, has beautiful shimmer you can see in medium to strong light, and it glows from within. It IS thin, however, so layering over a similar base color or lots of time to do a manicure is best. Aside from the shimmer, the color is a gorgeous true baby blue that looks great without the shimmer in shade and low lighting and I think it would be gorgeous as the accent to a light/neutral outfit or a wedding manicure!

  2. Very nice!

I'm a fan of Sinful Colors, too. I can't afford to buy solely salon brands, after all. Sinful Colors is a go to for me, especially when it comes to colors I like but I don't like enough to drop $8 on, you know?

  3. My biggest issue with Sinful is 9 of 10 bottles are like water so the application can be dreadful esp for me who tends to need to rush to get 2-3 coats of anything on. Sinful or any watery polish will just bald and pool to the point I have to take it off and start over. But for the rare one I do see that seems like it's not to thin and watery, it is the right price and offers some really fun shades often that I might not spend higher $$$ on trying. I adore Rainstorm and also have a nice green cream I bought from a fall display that hit my area. That said, were I live is rural and we don't get that many of the Sinful (or others for that matter) collections in where I live.

  4. Oh and I did get Cinderella - a friend found it and sent it to me - I had to have it after all the blogger hype...and yes the pink shimmer is weak in it but I add a little bit of Revlon Watermelon Fizz(think it's called Watermelon it's light pink) and it beefs up the shimmer to perfection and extends the life of my mani when I wear Cinderella

  5. Very pretty! The beautiful blue shimmer really adds a lot. ♥

I have Cinderella too, which worked beautifully for me, but I know a lot of people didn't find its shimmer quite sufficient. I definitely didn't have that problem, though--the whole weekend I had it on, I just kept starting at my nails! Looks like I'd find this one every bit as appealing as well--I'll definitely keep my eyes open, next time I'm somewhere I can get a hold of some more Sinful Colors!

  7. This color looks great on you. I have recently ended my "I'm never buying Sinful again" streak which I kept up for several months after that whole fiasco. From what I heard, Revlon resolved it and made it right somehow. it's like you said you really can't beat the price and the accessibility.

  8. I have Cinderella and I'm just not impressed with having a layering polish that can only work with a single colour of underwear. This one is just too tempting though... I may splurge next time I see it (if ever I do).

  10. This one's definitely a hit! I love pastel blues generally but the shimmer makes it magical :)
